Analysis of the John Mill"s view on freedom (реферат, курсовая, диплом, контрольная)

M ill did not consider that society is free until control was not considered with the rights of the people, or rather, the management did not consider the absolute rights of people, because regardless of the order of the authorities the person may refuse to carry out the order if he does not meet his notions of decent human behavior. A lso, there must be an area within where people can be inviolable, but the boundaries of the area should be installed in accordance with the norms which has been widely recognized by people and compliance with these standards must be closely connected with the concepts of right human conduct. Mill raises the question of pressure of the individual from society. P ublic opinion always played a big role in people’s life, if a person’s actions harm other people, they have right to interfere in his «freedom» otherwise it can lead to a bad outcome. The question of freedom is taking place in every person’s life.

E ach individualhas his own vision and his understanding of freedom and everyone thinks that his opinion is the right one. John Stuart Mill and Isaiah Berlin have very interesting and different views on the same issue and it is a huge success that we have an opportunity to get acquainted with them and discuss these issues. Their points of view are very reasonable and somewhere even similar, they both believed that individual should have a liberty, but the extent of this liberty they saw differently. Most people think individuals should have liberty, but the interesting question is what kind of liberty they should have. Unfortunately, Mill's and Berlin’s or any other works will not solve the entire range of problems associated with concepts of freedom today. T he question of freedom will never come to an end, because the concept of «freedom» has its own meaning to each individual and concept of freedom will always be discussed and challenged. As for me, I am more that agree with Mill’s view on liberty. N owadays, in the spirit of democracy people are mostly free to think and act as they want. A.

nd this is why it is easier to develop not only as individuals, but also as a society. In conclusion, Iwould like to say that both of those authors made a huge contribution to the scope of freedom. We can only discuss the problem of freedom from different points of view and hope that someday people will come to a common solution onthat subject.
